Telenet presents Empirix’s new Hammer G5: The most extensive solution for testing Voice over IP (VoIP)

Munich, 18 March, 2008. Empirix’s fifth-generation Hammer VoIP and IMS has been on the market since the end of 2007. As distributor of Empirix products for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Telenet now presents the most extensive VoIP and IMS test solutions of their category for the German-speaking market. The Hammer G5 offers an integrated package that combines feature and load testing under one common GUI.

The new Hammer G5 platform is a successful combination of the Hammer FX-IP (VoIP feature test) and Hammer NXT-IP (VoIP load test) which combines the basic features of both products with additional options under one common GUI.  Equipped with these features, the product presents the most extensive solution for VoIP and IMS tests in its category. Customers can easily upgrade their Hammer FX-IP or NXT-IP and benefit from particularly cost-efficient conditions. The most salient features of the Hammer G5 are:

  • Protocol support for SIP, H.323, MGCP, NCS, Cisco Skinny, and QSIQ
  • Wideband codecs for VoIP (network and wireless applications)
  • Transport over TCP and UDP as well as TLS for secure transport
  • Dynamic control of call rates for extensive analysis of the system-under-load
  • Testing of Open Mobile Alliance Push to Talk (OMA PoC) based applications
  • Scalable for feature tests with simulation of a small number of end points through to load tests with simulation of more than 200,000 end points.

“The new Hammer G5 is one of the most impressive solutions that Empirix has launched over the past years,” says Markus Kesting of Telenet GmbH Kommunikationssysteme. Customers can now seamlessly change from feature testing to load testing using one common GUI. Now, tests can be mixed within one network. The new Hammer G5 can carry out both extensive feature tests as well as realistic load scenarios at the same time. With its new product, Empirix meets the demands of the market. Current requirements of network and service providers focus on the integration of services and the  implications for service quality. At Telenet, we are delighted to be able to provide our customers with Empirix’s new Hammer G5 – an outstanding tool for meeting their requirements”.
